Welcome to our blog

Sixteen years into the 21st century, the Mennonite Heritage Center is entering the blogosphere!

Here we will feature news and information about the collections and activities of the MHC, and historical articles–some drawn from past MHEP Newsletters and Quarterlies, others newly written.

The story is deep and rich, of Mennonites and their neighbors in the Perkiomen Valley and eastern Pennsylvania over 300 years. We hope you enjoy and learn from this blog. If something is of interest, add a comment or question to an article.

Thanks for your continued support of the Mennonite Historians of Eastern Pennsylvania as we work to collect, preserve, and interpret the Anabaptist-Mennonite heritage in order to educate, inspire, and witness to the church and broader community.

Beginning in April, look for a series of weekly posts highlighting families descended from early 18th-century immigrants, in connection with a major exhibit at the MHC entitled Opportunity and Conscience: Mennonite Migration to Eastern Pennsylvania, which will be on display April 2017 to March 2018.
