Led by artisan Cathy Hetznecker, participants will enjoy learning how to make a crocheted fabric basket during the workshop. You do not need to know how to crochet to participate.
Workshop instructor Cathy Hetznecker lives and works in Havertown, PA. She takes a traditional approach to her crocheted rug-making, and uses primarily fabric remnants from American woolen mills and from the workrooms of interior decorators. Her dedication to the craft stems from the individuality and distinctiveness of each rug that she creates. She is currently President of the Haverford Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, and regularly exhibits and teaches around the region.
Participants will need to bring 5 yards of lightweight cotton woven or batik fabric cut into 1 to 1-1/2 ” strips, scissors, and a size Q crochet hook. Class size is limited and preregistration is required. Class fee is $55 ($50 member).
