Ribbon Embroidery Stocking Ornament Workshop

Stocking ornamentPlease call 215.256.3020 to register – one spot left.

Led by artist Victoria Adams Brown, participants will create a silk ribbon embroidered Christmas stocking ornament.

This is a beginner class. Working with six popular embroidery stitches, participants will create an embellished 6 inch stocking ornament with most of the stitching completed in class. The ornament features a small bouquet of poinsettias and leaves, on the front of the stocking, using red and white silk ribbons. The completed stocking will make a great gift or be an heirloom Christmas ornament.

The class fee is $55 ($50 members) plus a material fee of $10.  The materials supplied by the instructor include the ivory fabric, fabric for the back of the stocking, silk ribbons, floss, needles, color photograph and complete instructions. Participants are asked to bring a water erasable fabric marker (marker can be purchased at AC Moore, Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics), scissors, 4″ hoop, any color sewing thread and straight pins. Addition ribbon supplies will be available for purchase after class.

The instructor Victoria Adams Brown has written two books on silk ribbon embroidery, “The Complete Guide to Silk Ribbon Embroidery” and “The New Ribbon Embroidery”.  She is one of the few women in the United States to receive her “couture level of embroidery” certification from the famous House of Lesage in Paris, France. She has produced numerous magazine articles, appeared on a variety of  cable television programs including The Discovery Channel and QVC, and teaches surface embellishment techniques in the US and Europe.
