Paper Marbling Workshop

Taught by book binder and artisan Ramon Townsend, this class welcomes children and their guardians, as well as adults on their own. Parents are asked to stay with any children under the age of 13 (no extra charge for the parent). The session will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on January 18, 2025, at the Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Rd., Harleysville.

A Persian art from the 15th century, marbling involves creating watercolor designs in a fluid base before conveying it onto paper. Marbling is one of the easiest crafts to master—literally in just a few minutes, you will become an accomplished marbler. It is a mistake-free art, and one of the most creative and beautiful. In this 3-hour class, you will make 10-20 sheets of marbled paper. No special skills required. Open to ages 8+.

The cost of the class is $75 members ($80 for nonmembers), inclusive of all materials and fees. Preregistration is required, and class size is limited. To register visit: mhep.org/events or call 215-256-3020.
