REGISTRATION CLOSED FOR THIS WORKSHOP.
Popular paper cutting artist Pam Hults will teach the workshop that will feature spring papercutting designs. Participants can choose from several patterns with a spring theme along with a traditional Pennsylvania German paper cutting design. The image shown here is not the project for this workshop, but an example of the instructor’s work.
Scherenschnitte, a German word for scissors cutting, was a popular Pennsylvania German craft during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in which intricate designs were cut with a scissors or a knife. The process that instructor Pam Hults utilizes has evolved over the years, however she has always maintained her Pennsylvania roots with a personal touch and creative interpretation. Pam is a graduate of Kutztown State University.
Students will take home a finished piece in a hand crafted, grain painted frame provided by the instructor. Workshop fee is $55 ($50 for members) plus a materials fee of $25. Participants should bring along a cutting surface, exacto knife or small scissors and small paint brushes. All other materials for the workshop will be supplied.
