The Mennonite Heritage Center is offering a four session evening workshop on color management in painting on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 pm on June 10, 17, 24 and July 1. Artist and instructor Dot Bunn has developed a comprehensive course on color management that her students have found to be very helpful in their painting. The course would not involve working on individual paintings but would be based on the color wheel and learning to produce clean and harmonious colors in our paintings. This is not a shortcut to mastering color control but it has quickly produced cleaner and more harmonious results. Limiting hue choice and carefully tuning the palette helped students to identify correct value relationship which is critical to turning form and creating depth in a painting as well as maintaining harmony.
The four session course will cost $225 ($200 MHEP members). Preregistration is required as the course is limited to eight participants. A list of supplies needed for the class will be furnished upon registration.
