Women in Service in the Mennonite Heritage Center’s Collections and Beyond

COME CELEBRATE WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH! Join archivist Anne Yoder and MHC Educational Curator Regina Wenger for a time of sharing, service, storytelling, and fellowship. This event will feature women who left their home communities to serve as nurses or missionaries, circa 1870s-1930s, whose papers are found in the Mennonite Heritage Center or other archives. We will also hear from a practitioner in a helping profession, former nurse and current art therapist Carol Martin Johnson from West Philadelphia Mennonite Fellowship.

The afternoon will include a snack time and an opportunity to do our own service project, following the example of our foremothers, assembling infant care kits for MCC, or working on another project.

The event is free, but due to limited space, pre-registration is required. Participants are strongly encouraged to donate several items (listed below) for infant care kits as part of their registration.
