Workshop: Weave a Wall Basket

The workshop will be led by artisan basket weaver Karen Wychock who has chosen a wall basket design for the workshop project.

Is the junk mail piling up on your kitchen counter or your entryway table? This basket could be the secret to turning your pile of mail into a legitimate design statement. It can sit on your kitchen counter, fit right over a door knob or even be mounted on the wall! This basket also looks great filled with flowers on your front door!  It offers you many possibilities. You choose how you are going to use it.

Karen will also show you how to create a beautiful floral arrangement in the basket as part of this workshop so you will be ready for the holiday season!

The basket measures 10” x 3” wide x 14” high (includes handle). It is a reed basket with an oak handle. Dyed reed (red, green, blue and black) will be available to create pattern and design within the basket. Various sizes of reed will also be available to add interest and texture if you choose not to use the dyed reed.

Instructor Karen is a member of the Bucks County Craftsmen’s Guild and the PA Guild of Craftsmen.  As a weaver of traditional Shaker baskets, she has sold her work through various shows throughout PA and Delaware. She was also president of the Penn-Jersey Basket Weavers Guild for six years and has taught numerous basket weaving workshops.

Preregistration is required as the workshop size is limited. The workshop fee is $65 ($60 member) plus $25 materials fee. No refunds are given unless a workshop is canceled for insufficient enrollment.
